Same-Day Crowns in Burlington, MA

CEREC Same-Day Crowns · Burlington, MA

Get a permanent, custom ceramic crown in a single visit. Dr. Lili Tayari uses CEREC, an advanced in-office CAD/CAM system, to scan, design and mill your crown while you wait, so there’s no temporary crown, no second appointment and no messy impressions. Our Burlington office serves patients from Woburn, Lexington, Billerica and the greater Boston area.

Why Patients Choose Same-Day Crowns

How a Same-Day Crown Is Made

Step 01

Preparation

After numbing the area, Dr. Tayari removes decay or old filling material and shapes the tooth.

Step 02

Digital Scan

A small intraoral camera captures a 3D image of the prepared tooth and your bite.

Step 03

Design

The crown is designed on screen using CEREC design software while you relax.

Step 04

In-Office Milling & Finalization

The restoration is milled from a high-quality ceramic block in our office. After milling, it is carefully finished and polished, then customized with staining and glazing as needed. Depending on the ceramic material, it is placed in a specialized high-temperature dental furnace for crystallization, glazing, or sintering. This gives the restoration its final strength, shade, and natural appearance.

Step 05

Final Fit & Cementation

The finished crown is checked for fit, contacts, bite, and appearance. After any necessary adjustments, it is permanently bonded or cemented to the tooth.

When Is a Crown the Right Treatment?

A crown covers and protects a tooth that is too damaged for a filling. Dr. Tayari may recommend a crown for:

As a Kois-trained dentist, Dr. Tayari evaluates why the tooth failed in the first place, so the crown is designed to withstand your bite and last.

From diagnosis to follow-up, your treatment is planned and delivered as one comprehensive, coordinated plan at 265 Winn Street, Suite 204 in Burlington.

Personalized Care That Is Never Rushed

Many of our patients are anxious about dental work. We take the time to explain every step.

Same-Day Crown Cost and Insurance

The cost of a same-day crown depends on how many teeth are involved and the complexity of your case, so we never quote a single price online. At your consultation you’ll receive a written treatment plan with an itemized estimate before anything begins.

We accept most dental insurance plans and will check your benefits for you. For treatment that isn’t covered, we offer CareCredit financing and an in-house membership plan for patients without insurance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plan on about two hours for the entire visit: preparing the tooth, scanning, designing, milling the ceramic crown in our office and bonding it in place. You leave with your permanent crown.

Yes. Same-day crowns are milled from solid blocks of dental ceramic (such as lithium disilicate or zirconia) that are as durable as lab-fabricated crowns and often stronger than older porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns.

A same-day crown generally costs about the same as a traditional crown, but with no second visit and no temporary. Crowns are usually covered in part by dental insurance. We’ll verify your benefits and give you a written estimate before treatment.

CEREC is an advanced dental technology that allows dentists to digitally design, create, and place high-quality ceramic restorations—including crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers—in a single dental visit.

CEREC is a specific brand of in-office CAD/CAM technology, not a general name for every digitally made crown. A CEREC crown is a crown created using the CEREC system. Not every digitally designed or milled crown is a CEREC crown because many other digital dental systems and brands are available.

CEREC is also more than simply a scanner. It is a complete digital restorative system that includes digital scanning, restoration-design software, chairside milling, and finalization technology.

When compared with other intraoral 3D scanners and chairside milling systems, CEREC is widely regarded as a market leader and the gold standard in same-day restorative dentistry.

The Bottom Line
For patients looking for a smooth, reliable, and efficient same-day crown experience, a modern CEREC system—using Primescan digital scanning, Primemill chairside milling, and SpeedFire finalization—is difficult to beat. It provides exceptional precision, speed, quality, and convenience.

No. Because the permanent crown is made while you wait, there is no temporary crown to wear, and no risk of a temporary coming loose.

With good home care and regular check-ups, a ceramic crown typically lasts 10–15 years or longer.

Yes.
