Preserving healthy enamel is extremely important because enamel is the hardest tissue in the body and cannot naturally grow back after it has been removed.

Dental Implants and Bridges

A dental implant replaces a missing tooth independently and does not require altering the neighboring teeth. However, the patient must have adequate bone, proper spacing, and suitable oral anatomy for implant placement.
A dental bridge uses the teeth next to the missing space to support the replacement tooth. In certain cases, such as when there is insufficient bone or an implant is not an appropriate option, a bridge can be an excellent alternative.
Dental implants are generally the preferred option for replacing missing teeth when the patient has adequate bone and is an appropriate candidate. However, there are situations in which an implant is not possible or advisable, and a bridge is the better treatment. Both options can successfully restore appearance and function.
